# ShotUnit > ShotUnit is an AI video production workspace for commercials and branded films. It keeps the script, visual references, clip plan, generation packets, takes, selects, and DaVinci Resolve handoff connected in one production record. ShotUnit is built for directors and hands-on creative operators. The current product is a private, single-operator system; public self-serve access is not open. ## Product workflow - Script: one canonical ordered commercial script and beat sheet, with a derived reading script. - Pre-production: look development, approved references, continuity, beat-to-clip planning, and production readiness. - Production: model-aware packet previews, explicit cost confirmation, immutable generation runs, take comparison, selects, trims, and Resolve handoff. - Production Graph: an optional advanced execution view for scoped refinement and assembly. ## Product boundaries - ShotUnit does not replace DaVinci Resolve; Resolve remains the editing and finishing environment. - Storyboards are optional.
